I asked PM about Adani, he responded by questioning my surname: Rahul attacks Modi

Senior Congressman Rahul Gandhi intensified his criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday in response to the claims made against the Adani Group, questioning why the PM chose to discuss his last name rather than respond to his queries in the Lok Sabha.

Rahul also claimed he had addressed a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla with "supporting proof" to back his claims regarding the same, which were erased from the House records, alleging a "nexus" between Modi and Gautam Adani. Rahul was sent notifications from BJP members questioning his comments on the PM, and the Lok Sabha Secretariat had requested him to respond by February 15 to the notices.

Speaking to a crowd in his Lok Sabha district of Wayanad, Rahul questioned why the Modi remark that "directly insulted" him by using his last name had not been removed. "He asks why you have the name Gandhi rather than Nehru. So, when the nation's prime minister verbally disparages me, that remains on the record. However, it is irrelevant because the truth always comes to light, according to Rahul.

In response to the Rajya Sabha's Motion of Thanks on the President's Address, Modi had stated that "the Congress gets unhappy if we don't mention (Jawaharlal) Nehru anywhere. Why do none of them use the Nehru surname if Nehru was such a wonderful person? Why is it offensive to use the Nehru name?

"I questioned the Prime Minister, Rahul stated. I questioned him over his connection to Mr. Adani. I enquired as to Mr. Adani's rapid growth. A single question went unanswered by the prime minister. When I questioned him, he replied, "Why are you called Gandhi and not Nehru?" Since this is the norm in India... perhaps Mr. Modi is unaware of this... However, in India, we typically use the last name of our father.

However, Rahul claimed that despite speaking in the most polite and respectful manner, his comments were omitted. I didn't say anything inappropriate. I didn't hurt anyone. I only brought up a few facts.

Rahul also urged the audience to pay attention to both his and the Prime Minister's body language throughout their separate statements in Parliament. The only thing you had to do was to look at my face as I spoke and his face as he spoke. You would comprehend everything if you consider how frequently he sipped water and how his hand trembled while doing so, he remarked.

Rahul suggested that Modi might see himself as a strongman that everyone should fear. "He doesn't realise that Narendra Modi is the very last thing I am afraid of. It makes no difference whether he is the prime minister or whether he controls all the agencies. Since the truth does not support him. He will eventually have to face his truth.

Rahul commented on his statement in the House, saying: "I pointed out how Mr. Adani travelled to foreign nations with the Prime Minister and was then promptly rewarded by receiving contracts in these nations. I demonstrated how Mr. Adani currently controls 30% of airport traffic only due of his connections to the Prime Minister. I discussed how the regulations were altered to allow Mr. Adani to acquire these airports. Previously, those without prior airport management expertise were prohibited from participating. And the guidelines were altered to permit Mr. Adani to take part. Even though the NITI Aayog and other organisations recommended he shouldn't be permitted, he was.

He continued by making the same accusations against the Adani Group, claiming that they had won contracts in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, received loan offers from the SBI, and gained control of the Mumbai airport "after agents intimidated the individuals who controlled the airport." "Mr. Adani is determined to monopolise every business," according to Adani, who has "has all the airports, the ports, defence contracts, coal contracts, mining contracts, road contracts, agricultural. Additionally, anonymous foreign shell businesses are funnelling thousands of crores of rupees into India, and no one knows to whom they belong.
